Lulled fish by the sea refuse to emerge.
Under my feet the sand fades.
The shadows of the ships won’t let me see.
Dreadful, my temple has become.
I’m in a bubble: I drown.
You smile: I tremble.
Your hands touch me: I dry swallow your breath.
My hands sweat.
A whisper penetrates my ears.
Fish decide to show: they come to see.
The sand breaks through
And the indomitable sea shelter us.
We are no longer just two fish,
But fishes who breathes.
